Razer, the company known for being a lifestyle brand for gamers, added the majority of THX assets today. In addition to assets from the company, employees and management joined the Razer family (via Business Insider).

It would appear that Razer feels that the acquisition of THX will be very beneficial to the growth of the company. In a statement from Min-Liang Tan, CEO/Co-Founder Razer, he feels that the “acquisition will allow us to reinforce Razer’s leadership in gaming and extend the brand into broader areas of entertainment, while at the same time empowering THX to develop into a global powerhouse, independently.”

The way THX was “bought out,” it doesn’t feel like it is getting absorbed into the main company. THX will operate as an independent startup, separate from Razer. They will also have the freedom to experiment, like acquiring financial partners and product developers on their own.

The CEO of Thx, Ty Ahmad Taylor feels that their “focus has always been on ensuring that anyone can experience high quality entertainment, regardless of their medium of choice. With Razer, we can now continue to strengthen our core lines of business while delivering excellence for our customers’ ever-changing needs. As a standalone company, THX will work with Razer but will primarily continue to service our partners in the industry in order to deliver great products to consumers.”
