Sony and Square create a PS1-style case and manual for Rise of the Tomb Raider

The special-edition case commemorates 20 years of Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider franchise.

PlayStation UK sent out a blast from the past this morning: pictures of a retro case and instruction booklet for Rise of the Tomb Raider in the style of PS1 accoutrements (via GameSpot).

"Thanks to @SQUARE_ENIX_EU we're celebrating the launch of Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration on PS4 with an original PS throwback," PS UK's tweet reads.

The PlayStation 1-era package appears to a special homage to Tomb Raider, rather than a collector's edition that Sony and Square plan to put up for sale.

Rise of the Tomb Raider launches today for PS4. The 20-Year Celebration edition of the game includes base content plus all weapons and outfit skins, support for PlayStation VR, and a new difficulty level.
