Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope coming to Steam Early Access later this month

Let the carnage commence as old school meets new technology.

If you have missed the gameplay of Serious Sam and were excited about the VR reveal of The New Hope at E3, then you only have a couple more weeks to wait. The game will be entering Steam Early Access on October 17.

The new game, which transports players to the first Mental War, has Sam taking on the new threat after it has destabilized numerous nations by taking out many ancient shrines. But who are we kidding? Serious Sam games have never been about story, just old-school shoot-em-up and crush-kill-destroy with lots of weapons, enemies and blood. In VR, it should get even crazier.

The game will support HTC Vive, and will support Oculus Rift when Touch becomes available later this year. There is no word on how long the game will be in Early Access, but players should be able to virtually kick alien butt soon. And if you aren't sure what I'm talking about, check out the gameplay trailer and our interview with two of the Croteam devs from E3.
