Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's latest patch adds support for PS4 Pro and HDR on PS4, PS4 Slim

4K resolution is one of several graphical accoutrements the patch adds.

Eidos developers took to Square's forums to detail changes and fixes wrapped up in patch 1.05 for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Highlights include graphical changes such as 4K resolution in preparation for PlayStation 4 Pro's launch this November, as well as other visual features supported by PS4, PS4 Pro Slim, and Xbox One S.

"The game will support 4K resolution and graphic improvements on PlayStation 4 Pro," confirmed the official Deus Ex Twitter account.

As one would expect, patch 1.05 addresses myriad glitches and bugs in the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions of Mankind Divided. Crashes and freeze states should no longer trouble you if you're playing on consoles, and a weird error that caused the game to crash on PC when you tried to load your game has been addressed as well.

Check out Eidos' forum post to read all about the patch, or just scroll down.

  • The following features have been added:
HDR support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One S
    PlayStation 4 Pro support

Various bug fixes for the following issues:

  • Crash during the shooting range tutorial
  • After talking to Vega, a freeze would occur when the player left the poor District, after seeing Miller first
  • Koller's fate after completing All in the Family, if the player spared Gallois
  • Exiting a tutorial during a flashbang\typhoon effect would cause the flashbang\typhoon effect to stay on screen permanently
  • Rarely, the hallway leading to Talos Rucker's room would not stream in after reaching the top of the elevator
  • Saving on the base build while NPCs are in search state and updating to day one patch, would cause the NPCs to search forever on that save

The patch also adds new Breach content and features:

  • Avatar customization (possibility to change the appearance of the Ripper in-game)
  • Overworld Map
  • New Santeau Corporation (New Maps and Darknet file)
  • New UI for avatar customization
  • New items: Premium Ripper Skins (2)

  • New item: Premium weapon (1)

Does this game 0wn or not?

It's "more of the same" after playing HR, minus shitty boss battles.

The real headache I had with the game is that it plays on the fact it's a "part 2 of 3" game, so the story is just "what?"

It's not as good as Human Revolution. The story is really convoluted, but the worst thing is the setting is really bland. So instead of being somewhere like Detroit and then getting in your plane (or whatever it's called) and going to Hong Kong where it's a completely different setting, you're focused entirely in Prague. That wouldn't be a bad thing but they carved up the city in sections (which all look alike and are barely distinctive from each other) and only allow you to get from one section to another by taking the subway. The Palisade is cool, but beyond that, thing really stands out.

I never really felt like I was a member of Interpol either. Started out that way, but you're essentially an outsider after the first 30 minutes. This is different than when you worked for Sarif. You were always doing stuff for him and felt included.

Also the ending really sucks. Remember how people were disappointed by the "pick your ending" that HR had? I'd rather have that. The ending I got was a complete waste of time and just downright terrible. The whole thing reeks of a game that was much grander in the planning and probably development phase, but then got hacked up, shortened, and rearranged to prolong everything and really make it into a trilogy.

Best comparable game: KOTOR II. It's not a bad thing, still a good game, but they fucked up what should have and could have been a great sequel in similar fashion.

I'm about 2/3rds through, and I'm still really enjoying it.

I'm surprised I saw so much dislike for this game before I finally gave up waiting for decent DX12 support. It may not 0wn but it's really really solid if you like exploring dense areas littered with stuff to do, hacking and infiltrating and uncovering stories and secrets and being a stealthy badass. The biggest downsides are some of the themes they try to tackle and fall so flat with, and the main plot is really only half finished, plus it took a while to pick up steam and engage at all.

If you really have desire to play a new Deus Ex immediately you might be better served waiting for the sequel which should conclude the story to be near release. Then you can play both closer together and not be completely lost, which I know I'll be when the next one comes around.

it's alright as it's own game, weaker than any other in the series by far though. Should be called Dues Ex: Breaking and Entering

Wish they wouldn't have wasted their time with Breach. It's pretty boring and definitely pay-to-win. It's ridiculous how stingy they are with actual rewards.
