Amazon has announced an all-new version of the Echo Dot that features a number of improvements over the previous generation, which includes seven high-quality microphones, an improved speech processor, and more.

The Echo Dot allows users to add Amazon’s Alexa to any room in their home without having to sacrifice much real estate thanks to its new sleek and compact design. With two color options, the new Echo Dot has been designed to disappear into any room in the house, making it a good smart companion in the bedroom, kitchen, and living room.

Users who have multiple Echo devices within hearing distance of their voice won’t need to worry about being bombarded with responses. That’s because its new Echo Spacial Perception (ESP) feature allows all Echo devices to intelligently calculate the clarity of your voice, which will then determine which device is closest to the user. This feature will be available as a free update to not only the new Echo Dot, but all previous generations of Echo devices.

The Echo Dot is available in either black or white and will begin shipping out to customers starting next month. Those interested in adding Amazon’s Alexa technology to their home can pre-order their Echo Dot today for $49.99. Amazon is also making the Echo Dot available in bundles as customers can purchase five devices to receive one free one, or 10 devices to receive two free Echo Dots.

      Looking forward to this.

I'm a fan of the Echo as well. I have my main one in the kitchen and the Tap in the dining room, which we often use in the backyard and porch since it's so portable. I plan on picking up some Echo Dots for the living room and bedrooms because getting info from Alexa is so convenient.

I still have to set her up with my Hue lights and Logitech Hub, though.
