Rise of Iron is coming. Prepare yourself.

Destiny’s latest expansion, Rise of Iron, is just a few days away, which means it is time to start that last minute grind to make sure you have plenty of materials and currency when the new expansion drops. To help you in your journey, we’ve taken the liberty of putting together some of the best ways to farm Legendary Marks, which you’re going to need if you want to be able to upgrade and purchase new gear and weapons in the expansion pack.

Daily Crucible

One of the easiest options you have resets daily, and will allow you to grab up to 15 Legendary Marks no matter how bad you are at the PVP aspect of the game. Simply head into your Directory, locate the Daily Crucible playlist, and then launch a game. All you have to do to get your Legendary Marks is complete the match, so just run around and do your best. Sadly, you can only complete this farming method once a day, as it is account bound.

Weekly Heroic Strike

The Weekly Heroic Strike playlist is a great way to farm strikes for new Engrams, as well as Legendary Marks. You can complete up to three strikes for Legendary Marks each week, giving you up to 45 in total. This is a perfect way to catch up with your pals, while still completing some farming events throughout the week. Once you have complete three strikes, whether with one character, or each of your characters, you will no longer be able to earn Legendary Marks from the Weekly Heroic Strike playlist until after the next Weekly Reset on Tuesday morning.

Dismantle Your Old Gear

Have you been saving all those sweet Legendaries from Year 1? Didn’t want to get rid of them because they’re just so chock full of fantastic memories? Well, it’s time to stop! Dismantling Legendary Gear and Weapons is a great way to earn yourself some additional Legendary Marks, so stop hoarding all those Year 1 weapons and armor. It’s time to stop holding onto the past and embrace the future. Dismantling a Legendary item that you haven’t leveled up will net you 3 Legendary Marks, whereas dismantling a full leveled item will gran you anywhere from 4 to 5 Legendary Marks. So stop reliving your memories from Year 1, and get ready to make some new ones.

Daily Heroic Mission

Each day the Destiny Directory updates with new Daily Crucible matches and new Daily Heroic Story Missions. These are both great ways to earn yourself some Legendary Marks. Like the Daily Crucible match, the Daily Heroic Story Mission is account bound, so you’ll only be able to complete it once a day. However, it will reward you with 15 Legendary Marks, so it is worth the trouble to go and complete it. The nice thing about these Story Missions, is they can usually be completed quite quickly by teaming up with your friends. So get out there and start earning your Legendary Marks.

These are the best ways to earn Legendary Marks at the moment. This information may change after the release of Destiny: Rise of Iron, however, that isn’t a guaranteed thing, so check back often for updates to our guide. You can’t earn Legendary Marks until after reaching Level 40, at which point your leveling will be solely tied to your Light Level. Legendary Marks can be spent at the various vendors around both The Tower and The Reef.
