Sony wants PS4 Pro to be your go-to console for HDR (high dynamic range) gaming, but a firmware update planned to roll out next week will add HDR support to all PS4 models. No PS4 left behind.

Representatives from Sony offered up no specifics such as how HDR will work. More information will likely be revealed ahead of the firmware update.

Also planned for next week, Sony's PS4 Slim launches on September 15 for $299. It's a sleeker model of 2013's standard console, sporting the same hardware specifications. Meanwhile, PS4 Pro will launch for $399 on November 10 and will feature an upgraded processor, GPU, and more.
