Sony has officially launched two-step verification for all PlayStation Network accounts in North America.

We learned Sony was taking this approach with keeping PlayStation Network accounts safe from hackers earlier this year.

Starting today, you can add 2-step verification to your PSN account in a number of ways, depending on the platform you’re using. If you’re using the PlayStation 4, you can simply go to Settings > PlayStation Network > Account Management > Account Information > Security > 2-Step Verification. If you’re on your PC, log into your Sony Entertainment Network account, then head over to the “Account” tab, then Security, and a message for 2-Step Verification should show up.

If you’re unfamiliar with two-step verification, it allows you to keep your account more secure as it’ll send a code to your mobile phone each time you sign in. This will allow users to easily be alerted if something fishy is going on with their account.
