Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: How To Fix The Mouse Acceleration Bug

We know the story: your mouse is going absolutely bonkers while playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Well -- we've got the fix right here!

Those who were hoping the PC version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided would be superior to its console counterpart were severely disappointed during its launch as many Steam users reported various technical issues ranging from crashes, to stuttering, to issues with its mouse acceleration.

While we can’t help you keep your game from crashing and stuttering like crazy, since that would require a patch from Nixxes, what we can help you with is fixing your mouse acceleration issues.

Overly Sensitive

When launching Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, you’re presented with a splash screen prior to actually starting the game. The splash screen has an options area, although it just focuses on its graphics settings since the game would need to load up different visuals if you’re changing anything.

To get to the mouse acceleration options, launch Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Once you get past all of the intro videos, go into the “Options” menu. Go to “Mouse and Keyboard.” By default, the mouse sensitivity is set to 50%, although it appears it’s mislabeled here for some reason and is really the mouse acceleration option. You’re going to want to set your mouse sensitivity to 0%. We know -- this is crazy talk, but trust us when we say this will fix the mouse acceleration issues you’ve all been having with the PC version.

Can We Interest You In A Gamepad?

Yes -- the keyboard and mouse are the PC gamer’s bread and butter. If there’s a PC game to be played, we know you’ll grab the nearest mouse and keyboard, no matter how filled with Doritos dust they are, to play it “the right way.” But don’t forget there are other options out there.

If you’re still having issues with the mouse acceleration, although we highly doubt you would considering how fool proof our guide is, then we won’t tell anyone if you decide to use a gamepad, like the Xbox One S controller or DualShock 4. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided already supports gamepad controls since it was also developed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

We actually prefer these settings for the game, especially since you can finetune how you want to play in the options menu. There are options for standard first-person shooter controls, controls that are similar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, controls specifically tuned for its Breach mode, and its own Mankind Divided settings. In our experience, we feel the FPS Standard controls offer the best feel.
