by Steve Gibson, Oct 04, 2000 4:24am PDTI spotted this 3dfx press release from last week that I thought you guys may find of mild interest. Apparently 3dfx is making a few more efforts to be more serious about their OpenGL support. Now they need to master that whole leaking drivers once a week technique

The openGL ARB is high, way fucking high. 3dfx one of the first to support them? More like one of the last. they triesd to be a glide only company and were it not for one John carmack standing his ground on opneGL, they would have been. Then it took them what 3 product releses later to get a FULL openGL ICD? Meanwhile rendition, nvidia, ATI, and Intel beat them to true OpenGL support leaving them batteling it out for half ass support with Trident.
Yup, someone was smoking bannana peels when they wrote that press release up. It should have looked more like
3dfx is finally serious about dropping glide and supporting OpenGL for moth professinal 3D workstations and gaming. ANd now that they are willing to actually support openGL like they should havem we are going to let them in.
