Shack PSA: Play the first chapter in the King's Quest reboot for free on Steam

If you enjoy palling around with Sir Graham, you can buy the five-chapter series for $30.

Sierra and The Odd Gentlemen rebooted Roberta Williams' classic King's Quest series, which followed Sir (later King) Graham and his family on adventures around the magical realm of Daventry. The first three episodes are out and garnered positive reviews, so the publisher is giving you a chance to play Chapter 1 for free on Steam.

"King's Quest brings adventure gaming into a new era while staying true to what made the original games beloved; the unforgettable storytelling, wit, puzzles, and of course plenty of ways to die," per the game's description. "Select between the noble pillars of Bravery, Wisdom, and Compassion to see what rippling effects these choices will have on Graham’s journey as well as later chapters."

The first two chapters of King's Quest were released in 2015. Chapter 3 became available this past spring, and Sierra and The Odd Gentlemen promise that the final two parts will be published before the end of the year.
