Now you don't have to keep tabbing to YouTube to hear your favorite in-game tunes.

File this one under "things that you didn't know you needed." Spotify has launched its own special portal dedicated to video game music with a selection of video game soundtracks you can chill out to, and it's called Spotify Gaming. Featuring special playlists curated by Spotify staff and community members, it's all about gathering all your favorite music from classic games in one place.

With an assortment of games like Halo, No Man's Sky, Portal and more, there are playlists and other selections to get you through a long work day, to get you pumped up to face the day, and to chill out with. Looking for something to work out with? You might want to check out the "Power Gaming" playlist. "Epic Gaming" goes for a completely different dynamic, but packs in the familiar tunes.

You can access the special portal right now with playlists from personalities like day9 and you can create your own and share with the community as well. Wouldn't a special Shacknews playlist work well? Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Why can't Google get it's act together and bring back categories? This makes no sense. Their music discovery sucks if you're only going to be able to follow the dots that Google decides to connect for you.

I assume the track libraries are largely the same. Google said they would bring back categories at some point, but it's been a few years now.

And by category I mean genre. Coffee just not penetrating today.

I don't see the Chrono Cross soundtrack on there. Fail.
