No Man's Sky will release on August 12 for PC, three days behind PS4 version

Hello Games will release No Man's Sky on PC on August 12, ensuring that PC gamers won't have to wait too much longer to begin boldly going places where literally no one else has gone before.

Sean Murray of Hello Games announced on Twitter that, as indicated by recent reports, the PC version of No Man's Sky has been delayed until August 12, three days after the PS4 version on August 9.

"I really want to clarify our PC release date. It's something we're working extremely hard on," Murray tweeted. "PC NMS release will now be global and will be August 12th worldwide. It's so important we get it right and make the best version we can."

Although a simultaneous launch would be ideal, PC owners won't have to wait that much longer than PS4 players to begin charting their own course through the game's procedurally generated galaxy. Of course, we're all behind that one guy who paid thousands of dollars for a leaked copy on eBay—and who already made it to the center of the galaxy, "beating" the game in so far as No Man's Sky can be beaten.

"There are reasons we have to be tight lipped at times. I'm sorry for the confusion caused," Murray concluded in a final tweet.
