Destiny servers going down today for maintenance for up to four hours

Prepare for some more downtime, Guardian.

Bungie has announced it has scheduled a server maintenance for Destiny today, which is expected to last for four hours.

Destiny’s server maintenance period will commence at 8am PT as Guardians won’t be able to log into Destiny in preparation for the upcoming downtime. Starting at 9am, all Guardians that are logged into Destiny will be removed from all activities in order to take its servers offline for maintenance. Don’t worry, though, as Bungie will give Guardians a heads up via an in-game message prior to the start of the server maintenance.

Today’s scheduled server maintenance is expected to end just prior to 12pm PT, which could possibly result in Destiny being offline for four hours. Fortunately, Bungie has been pretty fast with its recent server maintenance, so we don’t expect Destiny to be down for four hours.

As a result of today’s server maintenance, Bungie.net sign-in and Companion app services may be restricted during the downtime. Once the server maintenance period ends, all services will be restored.

If you find yourself suddenly with nothing to do, feel free to check out our interview with Deej at E3 2016 where he talks about the Rise of Iron DLC. Although if you own the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of Destiny, you might want to skip that particular discussion.
