Evening Reading

by Maarten Goldstein, Sep 29, 2000 6:00pm PDT

Just one more evening reading before we go to the weekend where you just don't know if you're going to get one or not. Bets on a Saturday or Sunday evening reading can be placed now.

- You best be leaving your Tweetie Bird chain at home, it might just violate your school's zero-tolerance weapons policy.
- More news from Intel as not just the Pentium4 is delayed, they have cancelled their Timna microprocessor. Timna was supposed to be a budget solution (sub $600 PCs), but there were again design problems with chipsets and after a year of trying to get them solved, Intel has cancelled the whole thing.
- If you remember that monitor taped NVidia Halo movie from a few days back, before the original version appeared on Stomped, the guy who hosted it got hit with a $30,000 bill from Earthlink for bandwidth charges. He appreciates any help. Colombian drug runners? They strip naked, dump their cocaine in the ocean, pour gasoline over themselves and ram a US Navy vessel with a speedboat and then get arrested. The Colombian Navy called it "one of the wackiest drug busts in recent memory" . - Thanks to Kyle Bridges who let me know that Steve is secretly working on nanoprobe technology. This explains his lack of posts.
