Allison Road Devs Kind Of Let Us In On Why The Game Was Canceled

Care shedding a little more light on the situation...?

Not long after announcing the excellent-looking, extremely unsettling Allison Road's cancellation, developer Lilith Ltd. has issued a statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the game's premature death.

The company posted a quick hit on Facebook, though didn't delve into the gory details as to why the game may have been canceled other than the dissolution of the partnership between Lilith Ltd. and new publisher Team17:

“Hi all,

After a long consideration between Team17 and ourselves, we have reached a mutual agreement to end our collaboration on publishing Allison Road under Team17’s Games label.

Sometime things pan out differently than expected as game development and publishing have so many layers of complexity… We’d like to especially thank everyone for their support through-out, it has and will always be appreciated!”

It's more than a little odd that the game was canceled outright despite a Kickstarter that was axed when Team17 had stepped forward and claimed publishing rights to the game, with a bigger budget and what looked like a promising future for the chilling title.

Perhaps in the weeks to come we'll hear more about this unfortunate decision or the project will continue in some other form.
