Nintendo x Vans Collaboration Releases Tomorrow

Make sure you're wearing a 'Classically Trained' shirt when you pick them up.

Lord help me, I'm a video game accessory junkie. I try not to give in every time. I really do. But then I see a sweet Game Boy wallet or a hollowed-out NES purse that I take everywhere with me and get stopped every five minutes over. And then someone calls it a Sega or something inane like that and I'm embarrassed to have to correct them, but a little more embarrassed that I think it's acceptable to walk around with that sort of accessory. So of course I would wear Nintendo-branded Vans. If they're not ugly, anyway.

And right now they do look a little ugly, but I guess this is a cool collaboration. It doesn't just stop at shoes, though. There are t-shirts, backpacks, socks, bags, hats, and of course shoes. Men, women and children are included in the design mix, which will have Sk8-Hi Zip, Classic Slip-On, and Authentic versions.

The Nintendo x Vans collection drops tomorrow, June 3, in shops and online. Don't expect to be able to rush out to Journeys and buy them, though. There's already a long line of high school kids there waiting to pay way too much for shoes, even though they do have a cool box or whatever.

There are a few designs, including the incredibly played-out "It's dangerous to go alone, take this!" and an all-over Peach print that I surely hope they didn't relegate to ladies' sizes. That's what it looks like happened, but I guess it's a little too early to assume anything.

Personally I'd rock the Donkey Kong pair and the tie-dye Mario. The Duck Hunt pair looks too much like Duck Dynasty to be cool.
