The Summer is upon us, which means it is time for Geralt of Rivia to travel to new and distant places. The land of love and wine has fallen under a terrible shadow, and only the Witcher can save the Duchy and its people. With other ninety new quests to tackle, and over twenty new enemies to slay, it can be pretty confusing when you try to sit down and figure out where you need to go to get everything started. This guide will take out all the guess work, and point you in the right direction so you can get Geralt’s next adventure rolling.

The first step to getting the new expansion started is to find yourself a Notice Board in the Velen area. We suggest heading to the one in the screenshot below, mostly because it’s a pretty straight shot to your next destination. This will start the Envoys, Wineboys questline.

The next step is to read the notice left by the Knights of Toussaint. It is titled Appeal to Sir Geralt of Rivia, the Bridge his Crest. Once you’ve taken the notice, go ahead and read it. This will update your map marker with a new waypoint at the village of Holloway. Travel there and approach the area knights as they speak to the villagers.

Now you just need to make your way through the coming cutscenes and dialogue. You’ll have an option to deal with some bandits, or just leave them so others worse don’t fill their place, so do as you please there to continue the quest. You’ll also have the option to go ahead and travel to Toussaint, or stick around in the Northern Realms to take care of some more things. Don’t worry if you haven’t finished up the main questline, or any of the other tidbits from the base game and Hearts of Stone, you’ll be able to easily travel back and forth between Toussaint and the Northern Realms using the World Map, just as you did in the base game.

After a bit of conversation, a few cutscenes, and possibly the death of a dozen or so bandits, Geralt and his new friends will head off for the land of love and wine, which will start up a whole field of new troubles for our Witcher friend.
