Undead Bone Shards are an interesting and unique item that function similar to the way that Humanity worked in the original Dark Souls game. When found, these items can be used at a Bonfire to increase the effectiveness of your Estus Flask when it is refilled at that specific Bonfire. This guide will showcase all the Undead Bone Shard locations, as well as give you some instructions for how to find them.

How to use this guide: The first portion of each entry gives a broad area to search for the item. This is to give those who wish to find these items themselves a starting point. If you'd like a step by step guide to finding the items, we have included additional instructions on how to find each item directly beneath each entry.

How to Find: Make your way to the Abandoned Tomb Bonfire and then head into the large hall, following it to the right. Be careful of the nearby enemies.

Area to Search: Smoldering Lake

How to Find: To obtain this shard you’ll need to locate the hidden area of Smoldering Lake. This area can easily be found by climbing down the collapsed bridge just before you fight High Lord Wolnir. Climb down and then continue forward into the lake area until you spot a giant worm doing loops in the distance. You’ll need to kill this creature to obtain this Undead Bone Shard.

Area to Search: Irithyll of the Boreal Valley

How to Find: Travel to the Church of Yorshka Bonfire, then head down the nearby stairs and into the garden. Hug the right-side wall, and follow it until you spot a large tombstone at the end. This Undead Bone Shard can be found just behind the gravestone.

Area to Search: Irithyl Dungeon

Area to Search: Lothric Castle

How to Find: Travel to the Bonfire near the castle’s entrance and head of the bridge to the duo of dragons. Run over the bridge and drop off of it just before the end to find this Undead Bone Shard waiting to be nagged from a corpse on the ledge below.
