Dark Souls 3 item duplication glitch discovered

Learning how this glitch works could make players completely unstoppable in Dark Souls 3.

Dark Souls 3 is just a few weeks away from its US release, but the game is already currently available in Japan. As a result, we’re hearing of the game’s first major glitch which allows the player to be able to duplicate items within their inventory.

A Japanese Dark Souls 3 player published a video to YouTube showing off the duplicate item glitch in action. While the video shows the player with a large amount of duplicated items within both their inventory and storage box, they don’t show how exactly the glitch is performed.

While this might frustrate some players who want to glitch their way to earning souls to purchase new gear, upgrades, and level up, it also means From Software doesn’t have the blueprints needed to fix the glitch. If you’re able to discover this glitch, you could certainly use it to your advantage to make your character an absolute killing machine.

        Not really.

With the way the game works, item duping isn't as crazy as it might seem. In DS1, completely irrelevant. In DS2, the invasion items were the only thing it really mattered with. At best you can trivialize the single player stuff with it.

Assuming DS3 is the same, but I won't know for a while at least.

Good they found it now. Should be enough time to patch it out before full world wide release.

This is not a good way to go into the launch of the game. Hopefully this gets fixed fairly quick.

To be fair, I'm coming to think of it as more of a launch tradition than a bug or exploit.

truth be told ill most likely rarely encounter it anyway, if at all.

Though, I COULD log in and be reminded of Diablo 1 all over again. ..which would suck tremendously.

Demon's was like this after a bit, (everyone was duping) but i had already platinumed it by that point. So, it was more a thing where id help my buddies, who weren't as hardcore about it as i was, get trophies. (annnnddd.... farming those damn rocks, in the fire, with the worms... got old.)

Still not something id want straight out of the gate at launch. I'd like to enjoy the game for a bit before it gets hacked to death.

There was always a day one patch officially scheduled for the 4-12 release. I'm sure part of the rationale behind the staggered release was time for the community to find bugs like these in advance of the widest release date.

Day9 has it already and is able to stream it in the US. Watched the first bit of it. Never played a Dark Souls game, I may have to pick up the 1st one if it is cheap enough.

I really hate this staggered release.
