Zen Studios Will Support Oculus Rift With Pinball FX2 VR

Because physical pinball machines are becoming somewhat of a rarity.

Pinball in VR seems bizarre, but it's something Zen Studios is teaming up with Oculus Rift to bring us. And you know what? It's probably going to be pretty awesome.

The game will feature three tables: Secrets of the Deep, Epic Quest, and Mars, all of which you can sidle up to and pretend you're slamming quarters into after the ball inevitably zips down the middle of the flippers and it's game over. Seriously, that happens far too much.

There hasn't been support announced for PlayStation VR or anything of the sort just yet, which is surprising considering the game's popularity on PS4 but perhaps that could come at a later date. It'll be interesting to see if additional cables are added in as downloadable content later on as well.

Honestly, the only time I ever see pinball tables is at the local Louisville Arcade Expo or by accident in dingy old pizza parlors. I'm all for a way to experience it virtually, so this is all pretty great news. Pinball can be extremely fun, so it deserves its chance at preservation.
