Dark Souls 3 is a month away from launch and From Software's action effort was on display during last week's Xbox Spring Showcase. Our own Greg Burke was able to stop and speak with Dark Souls community manager J. Kartje to discuss what players can expect.

"The biggest obvious change is the Battle Arts," Kartje told Shacknews. "Every single specific weapon has an Art or a skill that's attached to it. So with the Long Sword, you can hold it in a special stance and do a couple of different attacks, with the Bow you can attack from rolling, there's certain Bows that let you fire more than one arrow, there's a lot of different things that exist. It's another layer of complexity on top of every single weapon."

For more with Kartje, including the game's upcoming PC version, the changes to Humanity, new classes, and the game's challenge level, check out the full interview below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I learned that the butt poke is still the go-to strategy for Boss fights in this video.

How is this guy the community manager? He knows practically nothing even with the pre-release hush. How hard is it to understand your product enough to make a comparison to Bloodborne? Anyone who has played both could do that.

Probably just had a list of bullet points that they try to shove into any question they can reasonably make it fit.

That guy was the most PR guy of any PR guy :/

He's trying for sure but he appears to have no actual understanding of the series apart from the 3x5 notecard Bandai-Namco gave him 5 minutes before the event.

"One thing that is very clear, however, is that FROM has made other games, and that they try to build on those games, and that they are very excited. Things that are important to the game are also important to FROM, and FROM tries to stay true to the things that are important to them, like the music, which has also been key in other games. Namco Is really excited about FROM and it's really positive. We can't talk too much about Embers. But they are necessary to the game, and the game has a story.

I also need to wipe my nose more because I'm trying really hard not to sniffle because people might think I did Coke before this interview. "
