EA and DICE have revealed the first piece of paid downloadable content for Star Wars Battlefront, called “Outer Rim,” will include new maps, weapons, and heroes.

The Outer Rim DLC pack includes two new maps, a new game mode, new weapons, and two new playable heroes. The first map takes place on Sullust, which is known for its strong focus on industrial manufacturing plants that are surrounded by lava, while the second map will take place inside Jabba the Hutt’s palace and garage.

The new game mode Outer Rim will introduce is a new capture-the-flag-like mode called Extraction. In this game mode, Rebels will have to fight to deliver a resource shipment to their transport before time runs out. As you’d expect, the Empire will need to work together in order to stop the Rebels from advancing.

As for its new heroes, players should expect to play as either Nien Nunb or Greedo. Unfortunately, there’s no information as to what their abilities will be in Star Wars Battlefront, although we have a feeling no matter what, Greedo will always be shooting first.

New weapons include the V-10 rifle, the DT12 blaster pistol, and Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim Star Cards.

The Outer Rim DLC pack will be made available later this month and will be accessible for those purchase Star Wars Battlefront’s $50 season pass.

The 24h peak is down almost 50% across the board from almost a month ago.

Number of copies sold is what makes it a success. PC is never a large portion of that market.

Also, why wouldn't there be a sequel? Even if this tanked they need to be able to use the new IP. One of the biggest problems with this game is it seem so very limited with only original trilogy content.

Oh I do agree. Without an SP component this DLC is pretty lacking on PC, but it may have more survival I suppose.

Personally I am thinking I will just wait for all the Premium to come out and pick it up on sale for 50% off if people are still playing. I like the game, but I think Disney and EA got stingy with the IP.

Greedo should be a bullet magnet and his gun should just always jam.

Everything Han shoots on the map his bolt will seek out Greedo and one shot him.

Not really much of a hero, but it is hard to come up with Imperial heroes based on the original trilogy alone. I guess you want to put in the other Bounty Hunters from ESB eventually because...at least they didn't die immediately?

And make him invulnerable + curse whenever it does jam (which is 99% of the time). I would love to see a Greedo wandering around the map getting hit with hundreds of laser bolts a second cursing to himself.

Is there a single-player campaign mode?
