Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gets a late 'Awakening' for Xbox One and PC on March 3

Timed exclusivity is rough for anyone not on the platform of choice. For Call of Duty fans on Xbox, this is a first for them. They're sitting on the sidelines, while PlayStation 4 owners are still knee-deep in Call of Duty: Black Ops III's new Awakening DLC. The wait is almost over, though, as Activision announced this morning that Awakening will jump to Xbox One and PC on March 3.

Black Ops III's Awakening DLC adds four new multiplayer maps: Gauntlet, Splash, Rise, and Skyjacked. They can also jump into a whole new Zombies campaign, titled Der Eisendrache.

Awakening will go for $15 or as part of the Black Ops III Season Pass. To help prepare those users, let's look at those new multiplayer maps.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
