I used to order tons of shit off of amazon.com, but after I got my letter saying they reserved the right to sell all my personal Info., I've been in a battle via email, for about a month now (about 5-10 messages both ways) to get them to delete me out of the database.
First I was like, look, I don't want my info. sold, so take me out, they responded saying they couldn't do that, because of warranty reasons on shit I had purchased....I'm like fuck the wwarranty take me out...well they said they couldn't because they had to keep records, I'km like fuck that, so I write an email from my brothers email saying I am dead (hehe), and they said they would make sure and not give out my personal NAME for respect reasons, but the address, etc. would stay, so they still wouldnt' take me out of the database...

What really sucks is that Amazon has taken over the toysru.com and a bunch of people go notices that their ps2 orders were cancelled. That bites.

I'm sure this is all tied to some marketing promotion that Amazon will do for Apple.

I SERIOUSLY doubt they wanted to "do the right thing", they just wanted a deal with Amazon on some other topic and offered this as incentive.

No, what's stupid is Apple charging for the beta version of their OS-X. As I have stated before in other Apple newsitems, Steve Jobs should personally lick each stamp and mail a complementary copy of the beta OS-X to each and every registered Apple computer user, and thank them for supporting Apple.

Instead of acting like a supermodel-turned hooker, Apple should stop charging users for the things that will keep them interested, and hopefully coming back for more. There's a time to charge customers, and there's a time to give them the world. Apple charging for a stupid beta is definitely not the time.

Every time Apple 'does the right thing' and 'is responsible', their poor users take it in the wallet by having to pay for obvious freebies, generating revenue which is needed to offset technology licensing such as Amazon's One-Click. It may seem like a great deal now, but we all know who pays for it.

It really sucks that Apple is going along with this. If companies start licensing this technology from Amazon then it sets a bad precedent. What needs to happen is all of the companies should just ignore the patent, so as not to give Amazon a leg to stand on.
