In addition to making adventure games, both new and classic, Double Fine has also been honoring gaming's past with its ongoing Devs Play series. It recently launched its second season and the season's second episode features a particularly fascinating topic: Ratchet & Clank.

This, of course, is not to be confused with the upcoming reboot of the same name. Double Fine's Tim Schafer is joined by Insomniac's Ted Price to play and talk about the original PlayStation 2 shooter (not platformer, as Price notes that label was issued by the press) Ratchet & Clank. Among the topics that Price discusses are the development of the game and the tough pitch meetings with Sony's higher-ups regarding the new-at-the-time character.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
