Surviving on a desert island has proven more challenging than surviving in the middle of nowhere and developer Klei is not making things easier with the latest update to Don't Starve: Shipwrecked. However, it is offering up a new character, as well as Mac support!

Walani is the latest character to join the Don't Starve: Shipwrecked cast, with a blank expression and a surfboard at her side. Klei is also adding some valuable new items for players, like the Silly Monkey Ball, which distracts Prime Apes. But the challenge level is also getting amplified, as players will find no safety on their boat. If a player on a boat is low on sanity, sea versions of shadow monsters will appear and attack.

The full list of changes, including several changes to the game's wildlife, can be found on the Klei forums. Don't Starve: Shipwrecked is currently on Steam in an Early Access state for Don't Starve owners.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
