While most of North America slept late Friday night, the Tekken King of the Iron Fist Tournament Finals took place over in Japan. As the finals concluded, Bandai Namco had a new exciting regarding the upcoming Tekken 7. A new character debuted and it may look familiar to Street Fighter fans.

Yes, it's the demonic Akuma! A new trailer debuted revealing Kazumi reaching out to a mysterious figure to stop Heihachi, once and for all. That shadowy figure was Akuma, who could be seen performing many of his Street Fighter moves, including fireballs and Dragon Punches. And of course, he brought along his Raging Demon. It'll be interesting to see how what's essentially a Street Fighter character fits into the Tekken fighting style. But if anything, it's nice to see there's still a working relationship between the Street Fighter and Tekken teams after their crossover just a couple of years ago.

Now subtitled "Fated Retribution," look for Tekken 7 to eventually hit PlayStation 4.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
