CCP Games and Oculus VR have announced EVE: Valkyrie will be given to those who pre-order the consumer version of the Oculus Rift VR headset.

“EVE: Valkyrie is one of the most anticipated virtual reality games, and one of the first true VR games to go into development,” Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey shared in a statement submitted to Shacknews. “It perfectly captures the promise of immersive gaming, shooting you into a sci-fi adventure as you pilot a spaceship in search of combat. Battling your friends (and enemies) in multiplayer space dogfights is the ultimate VR thrill, and we’re excited to partner with CCP to bring this experience to Rift owners everywhere.”

While EVE: Valkyrie will be bundled with the Oculus Rift, the game will only be released as a timed exclusive. According to GamesIndustry.biz speaking with CCP, the title will also be a launch title for PlayStation VR.

What debacle? That game is still going. It may not be particularly popular but it's not broken or anything.

          It's nothing that was promised.

Basically, they entire "experiment" of Dust 514 was to fund the game that they really wanted to make of PC. They knew from the get go that the PS3 didn't have enough power to do the things that they wanted to do. There was supposed to be over 3000 planets to fight on and for with five separate temperate climates. That promise alone either means that they were either naive, incompetent,or just flatout lying to us.

Personally,I think that it was all a lie, mainly do to the fact that the original engine that the game was running on was literally melting PS3 consoles. So they decided to use UE3 and just kept the lies going.

Sorry, but after playing Dust 514 for over a year and a half, and the final betrayal that they were going to be focusing on Project Legion,I just can't trust them anymore.

So you played a year and a half of a game for free and you're pissed about it?

Also never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity

I spent $15 on aurum pretty early. I decided that I wouldn't spend any more money because I didn't believe their lies anymore. Had there been some substantial progress in the development of the game,I would have gladly spent more money.

I played that long in hope that it would get better, but I never really did. Free or not is totally irrelevant if the devs don't deliver on what they promised.

Oh,and one more thing. Apparently there hasn't been any news about Project Legion since 8/31/14. They made this huge announcement about Project Legion at Fanfest and now are totally tight lipped to a point that most people on the Dust 514 forums are questioning if the game is even still in development.

CCP is too secretive and wishy washy for me and that's why I'll never trust them nor give them another dime of my hard earned cash.

Are they obligated to tell anyone anything about it? If the project works out we'll know. If not, then who cares?
