Fallout Shelter celebrates Thanksgiving in new update

We think it'd be best not to ask where the Vault Dwellers found turkeys for their Thanksgiving feasts.

While you’re busy traveling the Commonwealth in Fallout 4, your Vault Dwellers in Fallout Shelter have been preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving in a special update that is live on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

The Thanksgiving update will make life in the Vault more festive as your Dwellers can don special Thanksgiving-inspired outfits. In addition to these special outfits, Thanksgiving food and decorations will be available.

With Christmas right around the corner, we have a feeling Fallout Shelter will also be receiving an update next month to celebrate the day Sandy Claws enslaved all of the children to make toys for his reindeer. Or at least that’s probably how the people in the Commonwealth have twisted the popular holiday.

I was until a few weeks ago. Got it to the point where I had 100+ people and had many of them trained to all 10s in SPECIAL and then got board. The game really lacks depth and none of the updates have really done anything about that.

Also now I just play it in FO4 instead since it has a lot of similar elements.

I stopped playing after about 30 minutes when I realized how boring it was.

Once I could build all the rooms, maxed out a few settlers, and could routinely fend off deathclaw attacks I was done with it. I was holding out a slight hope it would tie directly into fallout 4 somehow, but since it doesn't I've had my time with it.

I've been playing a lot of it recently. I wish there was a better deeper simulation game like this but its fun.

It could only really hold my attention for a week maybe.

So glad they spent resources on this thing that a fraction of their player base seems to play for a week or two tops instead of an appropriate amount of time on QA for the actual game.

Im 100% positive that it was the Falout 4 QA team that built fallout shelter. So you are 100% correct.

It'd be neat if it tied into FO4 somehow, like you could find your Vault or the remains of your Vault or something, that'd give me some motivation for playing it again. As it is now it's just a stand alone app where I engage in eugenics and selective breeding, then I feel really wrong afterwards.
