Shack Reels: Shack's Arcade Corner: Altered Beast

This week's episode of Shack's Arcade Corner takes a look at SEGA's Altered Beast.

“Rise from your grave!”

These are the first few words you’re given in Altered Beast as you’re commanded to rescue Zeus’ daughter. While the story doesn’t make a lot of sense, the game itself offered some unique experiences we’re still quite fond of to this day.

Check out this week’s Shack’s Arcade Corner where we pay homage to SEGA’s Altered Beast.

That game was difficult as hell, but it was really cool when you could get the full transformation in the level. Great sound bites too, "WISE FWOM YO GWAVE"

Cool Greg, nice game I was a big fan of Altered Beast I got a Sega Genesis because of it.

Good times nice that you showed all the forms.

Ah love that game. It was one of the first to play actual cut-scenes from video disc as I recall, in the arcade version.

Wow, it had a plot huh? I knew nothing about who the old guy was or what happens in the end credits.

As broken down as it was, I preferred the Sega Genesis version to the arcade.
