PSA: Street Fighter 5 beta rolling out phase one characters today

The second Street Fighter V beta was meant to close off the characters from the first one. But Capcom is in a giving mood and still appearing remorseful for the connectivity issues from last time, so it is rolling out the phase one characters one-by-one.

This second beta for Street Fighter V, beyond testing out cross-play connectivity between PS4 and PC, was meant to give players a crack at the game's second batch of characters. With that said, the first handful of characters were not being allowed in. However, Capcom appears to have done an about face on that stance.

The rollout started with Nash, with Bison having just stepped into the fray. The remainder of the phase one characters will be made available over the course of the day.

The Street Fighter V beta continues through tomorrow, so if you haven't jumped in on either PS4 or PC, now's the time.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
