        It'll be interesting to see how they launch this one, since they weren't happen with how either Hearthstone or Heroes rolled out.

              Yeah, and for HotS it was the drawn out Technical Alpha that bleed a ton of excitement for the game.

                err.. little more ->

                Hearthstone had keys which created a huge black market for it, but the plus side was anyone who really wanted one could get one. In response they locked down HotS, but that meant people who really wanted one had to wait for up to a year before Open Beta, at which point much of the interest and excitement had already faded.

                Overwatch might be a blend of the two. If it's f2p, I'm hoping they release it with invites + founders pack initially, or let people in with a preorder otherwise.

              I'm surprised they still use codes vs some system where you get an email and activate by clicking a link through the email that activates it on your bnet account. No resell, ID verification built in.

      Really looking forward to this, but I'm a bit bummed about the team size (and inevitable lack of dedicated servers). The niche that TF2 filled for me was the 9v9 community server I could just hop on any time and be playing with other regulars. Matchmaking from the friends list is a very different experience, it takes a lot more effort to get something started.
