If Nocturne was your thing (this uses the same engine) you might be interested in knowing that the first of the three Blair Witch games, Rustin Parr, has gone gold. And no, contrary to popular belief, this game does not feature three screaming children in a forest. According to The Spookhouse, the game will in stores by September 27 at a $19.99 retail price. There's also a demo that you can try first. Human Head Studios and Ritual Entertainment are also working on a Blair Witch game.

  • Already played the demo... The game's kinda Alone In The Dark style, and the atmosphere is pretty spooky. You have to make sure that your lights are off and you're not playing your incubus cd or whatever while you're playing. Mood is important. The lightning crashes made me jump a few times.

Other than that though, it's hardly a demo. Controls are hard to manage and aiming in a TPS is for shit. There's not much in the demo to really make me want to pick this up.

Blair Witch was a great movie experiment and an outstanding achievement in indie marketing. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a whiny bitch who probably thought Army of Darkness was a horror film.
