Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS will add a Super Mario Maker stage on September 30

The magic of Super Mario Maker cannot be contained solely on its own disc, which is why a new Mario Maker stage is coming to Super Smash Bros. at the end of this month.

Super Mario Maker has been front and center for Nintendo since its release on Friday. But the idea of creating custom Mario levels is one that's too powerful to contain in a single game. That's why the Super Mario Maker theme is spreading beyond last Friday's game and heading to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

The trailer below reveals that custom Mario levels will literally be constructed in the middle of a Smash Bros. match, with all four available Super Mario Maker game themes popping up throughout the game. Each new session in this level will be built randomly, offering new obstacles as things progress.

Look for the Super Mario Maker stage to hit Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS on September 30. Pricing details have not been revealed at this time.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
