Prior to today's StarCraft II World Championship Series Season 3 Grand Finals in Poland, Blizzard took a time out from today's competition for a major announcement. After a brief round of technical difficulties, the publisher has revealed the official release date for StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, announcing that the game will arrive on November 10, just days after this year's Blizzcon.

The reveal was preceded by an animated short called "Reclamation," which will show what's happening with the Protoss and offering a glimpse at the Legacy of the Void story. The rest of Reclamation will be released in the coming weeks.

Legacy of the Void has been in beta since March 31, introducing a number of new units and some new game modes. Additional content, like Allied Commanders, has made its way into the beta over the course of the past several months.

Sadly, most (if not all) Twitch viewers were affected by some technical difficulties that hit right before the trailer countdown ended and coincidentally subsided just minutes later. It did eventually debut, though, and now the whole thing can be seen below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
