Vs. Excitebike will motor onto the Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow

Nintendo's Builders Week event is over and that means Vs. Excitebike is about to release on the Wii U Virtual Console. It's actually coming out tomorrow, in fact!

Over the past week, Nintendo has been holding a series of challenges across a number of eShop games. This "Builders Week" challenge was said to culminate with the release of an old-school game called Vs. Excitebike, an iteration of the classic racer that was never released in North America. Now that game has a release date and it's... tomorrow!

Nintendo made the announcement on Twitter earlier today. The formerly Famicon-only Vs. Excitebike features more tracks than its predecessor, as well as two-player competitive play. Also unlike the former Excitebike, custom tracks can be saved once they are completed.

Vs. Excitebike will release on the Wii U Virtual Console on Monday.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
