Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Software updated his .plan file answering some frequently asked questions about the Dreamcast port of Half-Life that they, Valve and Captivation Digital Laboratories are working on. Again he confirms a PC version of the additional Blue Shift mission might happen (27 levels!), but that won't be decided on until the DC game ships.

- In Blue Shift, players take on the role of the security guard known as Barney. - Blue Shift is a complete new episode that spans about 27 levels. This is about 1/3 the size of the original Half-Life. - The new models are on average about twice the detail (polygons) of the original Half-Life models. They also sport new textures and animation articulation.

#68 - Certainly, AvP is easily the scariest game I have ever played.

They really captured some of the feel of Cameron's sequel (Aliens)! By the time I got outside the compound, and the rain was falling, and the aliens start streaking out of the darkness, man...

I love horror films, but modern horror movies are so pisspoor next to the stuff of previous decades that I'd rather play survival horror games. AvP and Resident Evil Code Veronica have given me delicious scares that few movies in recent memory can even approach.

AVP is one of the scariest things ever.... I remember when I first played it at a 200 Player Lan Party... Everyone was playing in the dark (It was like 3AM) Suddenly A face hugger... I screamed like hell and pulled the headphones of out the jack.... That is one scary game....

Wow. I have yet to see a game that lagged in framerate on a Dreacast.. the framerate is pretty damn smooth.

Twice the intricacy in polygons of the origional Half-life eh? So that means what.. more like Quake3 style models or something?

I wonder how the Barney is going to look. They are prolly going to h4rdc0re buff him uff and put a cigar in his mouth or something. Not like the loser-esque barney's in the OG Half-Life.

Deus Ex is definitely a better SP game than Half-Life. But Half-life is still a great game, and one I'd recommend any single-player game fan to purchase (or obtain via "other" methods).
