STEVE, i still own a voodoo2 and i get a good 30-70 fps in Counter SrIkE (Cocain strike, this shit is addictive too!). All i did was get wicked gl drivers....WOW those shits are sweet, i was only getting about 20-30 fps with the regular v2 drivers...GO GET EM !

i've had the same TNT1 for a year and a half (i bought it january 1999) and it's been okay for me, quake 3 ran fine on it (not GREAT, but fine)

hell, this is still running on a Celeron 300A at 300mhz :D

there is a real good reason to have a v2 in your system if your platform is nt. i have a tnt2u and v2 sli. the tnt2u plays all my opengl games. people that only have used 98 my not know that nt doesn't support dirextx games over dx3. even with the hacks out there that kinda give nt dx5 & 6, the performance (if it works at all) is crummy. having glide in my box as well as a good opengl card let's me play almost anything.

Dual Voodoo2's provide higher fill rate than a Voodoo3-3000, I believe. For those of us with older comps., this is a worthy upgrade with the current Voodoo2 prices tanking.

The main point of these drivers is they support DirectX7, so you can probably play newer games (Tribes 2?) that will need DX7.

Well, right now, if you want to run Quake 3 and Unreal based games well on the same system, having dual voodoo2s and an nivida TNT2 or higher ard it pretty much the only way right now.

I am still running a TNT1, with twin V2's so what's the deal? It worked well enough to run the NOLF techdemo and dedided not to buy it the game when it comes out. I consider that a $50 savings!

I've been able to run every demo, and every game at around 35-45 fps, so what gives? I sampled a GeForce1 SDR in my system for about 2 weeks, but I didn't see *that* much of a difference - not enough to spend upwards of $200 on a new card.

Unless the Shack is presenting a new card as a prize for Stupid Contest #2, my rig is working just fine.
