Weekend console download deals: PlayStation Summer Sale hits its second week

The new August freebies are upon us, but that's not all. The PlayStation Summer Sale goes into its second week with some Assassin's Creed deals and some notable indies worth checking out.

The month of August is starting up and that means it's time to rotate out the old monthly freebies and bring in the new batch. But on top of that, PlayStation is continuing its summer sale with a couple of Assassin's Creed games and some worthwhile indies to check out. Also, Xbox One owners will want to pick up MetaL Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and prepare for the eventual arrival of The Phantom Pain in just a few months. Check out the full list of deals below.

(Note: As of the time of this writing, the Nintendo eShop sale for Ubisoft appeared to still be active. It was set to lapse a few days ago, so be aware that those deals can lapse at any time.)

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
