Moon Studios has announced Ori and the Blind Forest will be receiving a Definitive Edition that will include new areas, game mechanics, and “potentially” new abilities on Xbox One and PC.

Director Thomas Mahler made the announcement at Gamescom this week, calling the game the “ultimate” version of Ori and the Blind Forest. The game is expected to launch this fall across Windows 10, Steam, and Xbox One. No pricing information was revealed.

Ori and the Blind Forest originally released on the Xbox One earlier this year, earning itself a 9/10 from our review. We called the game “a captivating platformer with a visual splendor that's only matched by its excellent execution of the Metroidvania formula.”

We can’t even begin to imagine what kind of improvements Moon Studios will make to its game, although we would easily play through it again as soon as its Definitive Edition becomes available.
