Nintendo has announced it will be releasing Splatoon’s update tonight, and as a result, needs to take down its servers between 5:50pm PT to 7:00pm PT.

Nintendo highlighted tonight’s “massive” update just last week where we learned two new game modes were being introduced to Splatoon: Squad Battle and Private Battle. Two new weapon types, the Slosher and Splatling, will also be included as well as over 40 pieces of gear, a level cap increase, updates to Urchin Underpass, and new music. Best of all, all of this content is being released completely for free for all players.
