Update: Bungie says this particular issue appears to be subsiding, so PlayStation users should soon be able to connect to Destiny's servers once again.

Original story:

Bungie has revealed they're aware of issues PlayStation users are experiencing when attempting to connect to Destiny's servers. As of now, Bungie says they're currently investigating what the problem could be, although they give no information as to how long this login issue will last.

Destiny players have been experiencing a love/hate relationship with Bungie lately as server issues appear to be a regular occurance. Just last week, Bungie took down Destiny's servers for nearly eight hours of downtime for server maintenance. Then a few weeks prior to that, Bungie took Destiny's servers down for six hours for yet another server maintenance. Then, a few days prior to that, Bungie took Destiny's servers down in order to implement a Passage Coin hotfix.

It feels like the closer we get to the release of Destiny's upcoming expansion, The Taken King, the more frequent these server issues appear to pop up. We just hope Bungie figures out how to keep Destiny online for the release of The Taken King as we would not be surprised to see them have ongoing server issues starting September 15.

We'll be updating this story accordingly, so stay tuned and hope this current issue doesn't last too long.
