Axiom Verge was one of the more pleasant surprises to emerge this year, standing out as one of the best games of 2015 to date. With his game now out in the wild, solo developer Thomas Happ was free to wander the E3 2015 floor, but he couldn't escape the eye of Shacknews Showcase's Andrew Zucosky, who managed to wrangle him up for an interview.

Happ goes into Axiom Verge's weaponry and how it factors into the game's overall design, as well as the numerous hidden items scattered throughout the world. Afterwards, Andrew asks about crafting Axiom Verge from scratch and completing all facets of development as a solo effort.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
