Rainbow Six Siege looks for the best of the best with the 'Siege Games'

Ubisoft is on the lookout for the highest-scoring teams for Rainbow Six Siege, holding hands-on tryouts at four major events. They'll also be looking out during the closed beta, which players can jump into after making a charitable donation to Extra Life.

As pointed out during our hands-on at E3 2015, it takes a particular set of skills and a whole lot of teamwork to survive in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Even the developers themselves tend to have some trouble staying alive. But for teams that feel they have what it takes, Ubisoft is offering up a unique opportunity.

Teams that can rack up the highest score in Rainbow Six Siege, in what's being called the Siege Games, will win a trip to Los Angeles to show off their skills to the world. The winning team will get to play on a live stream held during Siege's launch event. Ubisoft will be holding special demos during San Diego Comic-Con next weekend, RTX in Austin, TX from August 7-9, PAX Prime in Seattle, WA from August 28-31, and during GameStop Expo 2015 in Las Vegas on September 2. For those that can't make it to any of those events, Ubisoft will also be on the lookout for the highest scores during Siege's closed beta, which is still taking sign-ups for its September launch.

The Siege Games is being held in conjunction with Extra Life, in an effort to help raise money for charity. Those looking for guaranteed beta access for Siege can offer up a donation of $6 or more. For more, visit the Siege Games site and check out the video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
