Pillars of Eternity 2.0 update will offer party AI, improved stealth, and more

Obsidian Entertainment has announced Pillars of Eternity's next major update will include party AI, improved stealth options, and more.

Obsidian Entertainment has announced Pillars of Eternity will be receiving quite the update when its first expansion, The White March, is released that will include party AI, stealth mode, and accuracy indicators.

The first improvement is one Pillars of Eternity players have been wanting for quite some time and that’s party AI. The upcoming update will now allow your party to perform based on several types of AI behavior. The AI behaviors can be interrupted or turned off if you prefer to micromanage your party at certain points in your game.

The update will also make it possible to put an individual character into stealth mode, rather than having the entire party enter stealth at the same time. If you ask us, there’s nothing more awkward than seeing a Barbarian attempt to be stealthy, so this is a welcomed improvement.

The last improvement is the addition of range and accuracy indicators. Range indicators will help players tell how close their wizard needs to be to cast a spell or what distance your Ranger can maintain from a foe.

The 2.0 update will be available when The White March is released, although you won’t need to purchase Pillars of Eternity’s first expansion in order to enjoy its latest additions.

Range indicators will help players tell how close their wizard needs to be to cast a spell or what dysentery your Ranger can maintain from a foe.

Yea - I thought that was weird, but that's what it sounded like and the closed captioning for the video said that. After listening to it much closer, it sounds like he says "distance," so I updated the story.

Alternatively, BREAKING EXCLUSIVE rangers can now cast Dysentery, forcing enemies to hunt buffalo and ford rivers.

I didn't know there was another option until I listened to it a bunch of times afterwards. I used YouTube's closed caption option the first time around, so I thought that was the name of an ability the Rogue had since I have yet to play PoE.

That's some fine journalistic ability, relying on Google's closed captioning for your article quotes.

I thought so, too! It was the best I could do at 9am since Obsidian didn't release any official patch notes or anything at the time. Just this video.

I guess I'm sorta glad I never finished this, so now I can play through with all these patches! maybe waiting 6 months after release for everything is the new norm!
