The first major update for Cities: Skylines has been released, and in addition to bug fixes and smaller cosmetic additions, multiple maps, building styles, and more have been added to this update.

Cities: Skylines version 1.1 - European Theme includes three new European-themed maps, 72 European-style buildings for the European map themes, wall-to-wall buildings for the European-style buildings, and the inclusion of tunnels for roads and rail. A number of additions to the game’s Asset Editor have also been included, such as the ability to import custom vehicles.

“Cities: Skylines will continue to follow the traditions set by other recent Paradox releases… of paid expansions combined with large updates of free content ensuring that all players, whether they choose to purchase the expansions or not, will have plenty of new features to look forward to,” Paradox Interactive brand manager Jakob Munthe says. “Going forward, we will focus on giving away the main features for free and improving the modding tools, while also selling major expansions around new mechanics. But we will also continue to offer free content such as new buildings and road types.”

Cities: Skylines’ version 1.1 - European Theme is now available for PC, Mac, and Linux. For the full list of patch notes, head over the Skylines' official forums.
