Doom 4 gameplay trailer will be shown during Bethesda E3 2015 Showcase

Bethesda has confirmed Doom 4 will be making an appearance during its first-ever E3 showcase.

Bethesda announced it will be hosting its first-ever E3 Showcase on June 14, and while the world is waiting for the imminent announcement of Fallout 4, the publisher has revealed we should expect to be seeing something related to iD Software’s upcoming Doom game.

Bethesda released a teaser trailer for Doom 4 on YouTube, which you can view for yourself below. The video features Doom’s iconic double-barreled shotgun being loaded and an adversary with a large turret firing from its back.

The new Doom has been in production since 2008, and since then, it's been in developmental limbo over at iD Software. Bethesda acquired iD Software back in 2009 and said they'd be publishing all of its future titles, and we're finally getting a Doom 4 gameplay trailer six years later. We guess the saying "better late than never" kind of holds true here.

Bethesda’s E3 Showcase is taking place on June 14 at 7pm PT / 10pm ET. Stay tuned to Shacknews as we report everything that comes out of the showcase as well as others going on at E3 2015.

Who's doing their engine work these days, or are they just iterating on Carmack's engine from here on out?

Part of a new id game was always about what crazy thing Carmack was up to next.

Didn't they hire the crytek engine designer away?

Yes, Taigo Souza or something like that.

I think the engine work was all done when Carmack left but that was some time ago. maybe they did some optimization and added some new stuff, dunno.

I have low expectations for this game, so I won't be disappointed if it sucks.

This is a news story about a teaser for an upcoming trailer to be shown at a convention down the road.
It's just too many levels of preliminary marketing for my tastes.
You did at least find something to write about around that mote of information.

*you may recall me defending some of the recent articles as being valid 'news'; this feels less so.
This actually reminds me a lot of advertisements before movie trailers on the web.

You're telling me you wouldn't be interested if we reported a gameplay trailer for Fallout 4 was announced to be shown at E3?

You're acting like it's a surprise that they announce Fallout 4. C'mon now. It's just a matter of time until they do.

And this is just peddling hype. I understand it's the job but let's be honest here.
