Early Evening Reading

by Maarten Goldstein, Sep 04, 2000 5:02pm PDT

Evening reading about an hour earlier than usual today since the whole Labor day holiday made this a fairly non-exciting news day. So here you go, please don't get overly excited

- A new study has shown that 37% of all US workers with internet access are saying its a vital tool. They are also saying they use it primarily for "work-related research" and e-mail. Uh huh, and I just saw a pig fly.
- Rent a geek! That's right, for just $39 an hour a "Sevant" will come to your house and set up your PC, install applications and help with the Internet. As far as I can see he won't have sex with you though. At least not for that 39 bucks.
- Stealing a lawnmower and then driving it down a sidewalk probably isn't the smartest idea. Just a warning.
- Some scientists are creating a new computer interface so you can work with your computer through sight, sound and touch. You will never need a mouse again.
Thanks for all the evening reading email submissions we got again today, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Yeah I don't know why either.
