Ubisoft teased the reveal of an upcoming Assassin’s Creed game last week, and today, the publisher delivered as Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has been announced.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set in London in 1868 and features two playable protagonist: twins Jacob and Evie Frye. Ubisoft describes Jacob as a more hot headed, brash and rebellious person, while his sister Evie is described as a relentless Assassin that’s a true master of stealth. Players will be able to switch freely between the twins during its open-world segments, while story missions will restrict their choice to better serve its narrative.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be developed by Ubisoft’s Quebec studio, instead of Montreal where the series is normally developed. Ubisoft claims Syndicate will be the fastest game in the Assassin’s Creed series as it’ll emphasize more on a number of short-range weapons, like hidden blades and brass knuckles, to make it feel like more of a brawler.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is expected to be released worldwide on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23 with a PC version planned for a fall release.

Last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity was highly-anticipated, but it launched with a lot of bugs. It took Ubisoft several months to get Unity to where players would be able to enjoy it without running into graphical issues or falling mysteriously through maps, but the damage for the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been done in the eyes of most gamers. Hopefully Ubisoft Quebec can bring those who have been turned off by the series from their Unity experience back with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
